THANK YOU to all who participated and contributed in various ways to the success of the Haiti Happening Dinner and Silent Auction which was held on Friday April 26, 2024 at Michelangelo’s Banquet Center. The 369 guests enjoyed Haitian Music provided by Soundbox Pro while they perused the Haitian, Artisan and Community donations in the Silent Auction and scooped up bottles of Haitian Vanilla, which sold like hotcakes, at the Market Place. Once again, the Corn Fritters whipped up by the chef at Michelangelo’s were a big hit. David Shuttleworth, was masterful as our MC and the guest speaker, Karen Slevin, the HAS Development Officer from Pittsburgh gave us an update on the latest activities as HAS. A short video of the hospital, narrated by Haitian staff was shown as well as a short clip from Jessica Laguerre, the COO thanking everyone for their support. As a result of the many kindnesses and generosity shared, the event raised $40,000 which will go toward the Maternal Child Healthcare at the Hospital. Our success is your success! You are helping make the difference to the health care and livelihood of the Mothers and Children for whom HAS provides care. Before continuing with other information, please be assured that the Canadian Friends of HAS is not dissolving as some have believed. The 21 st Dinner and Silent Auction was the last event of this sort, but we are (and will be) continuing our efforts to raise funds for the Hospital through various other activities. We will keep you informed of them as they arise. We have appreciated all the support for this event that has been given over the past 21 years and hope that you, our loyal supporters will continue to keep CFHAS as one of the charities that you support on an annual basis.
